Postdoctoral Researcher
Qualifications:
MSc Neuropharmacology. National University of Ireland, Galway (2010)
BSc(Hons) Biomedical Science. National University of Ireland, Galway (2008)
Ph.D. (2011-15): My project developed CNS tissue models that can be used for neurobiological studies and drug discovery. This project was in conjunction with TAP Biosystems and used an innovative platform technology (RAFT™). The model tissues were used to monitor the responses of neurons and glia to simulated damage, and to test the effectiveness of this novel approach as a screening technology for potential neuroprotective therapies.
